I thought after all the information it would be nice to introduce our family. The congenital myopathy is just a part of our life--it's not our whole life. These pages will tell you a little bit about us and our lives.

My husband Mark and I have been married for fourteen years. We met four years before then at The University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!), a fine institution and our alma mater. Mark grew up in Atlanta, where he graduated from Cross Keys High School. I am from Warner Robins, a town in central Georgia, and a graduate of Warner Robins High School.

We moved to Alabama when Mark graduated and took a job with the Shelby County Health Department in suburban Birmingham. Not long after we moved to this area I began working at the University of Montevallo. Our two children, Clay, age 10 and Britton, age 7, were both born here. Mark now owns his own business, a soil and site evaluation consulting firm, and I am still employed at Montevallo. Most of our extended families are still in Georgia and it would be nice to move back someday, but I think we've put down roots here for now.

In addition to working and running back and forth to the kids' activities, we do find some spare time for some interests of our own. I am an avid reader, mostly of historical fiction, and enjoy learning things on and about the computer. I also have started working with our genealogy. Mark fishes and hunts, and looks forward to both on his family's farm in south Georgia. We have started to camp and hike again now that the children are getting older. We all look forward to our annual week at the beach with my family.

I've already included a number of links relating to the myopathies, and the children have their favorite sites on their pages, but I also want to include links to several sites Mark and I enjoy.

BoxParents Place A great general parenting site which includes bulletin boards on every possible subject
BoxShockwave Not only can you download their players, but they also have some great games on the site
BoxMexico Beach, Florida A great family beach--small town, no high-rises
BoxHunting Information Systems A huge index of hunting sites--this is where Mark goes when he wants to dream
BoxGeorgia Lottery Commission This is where we go to find out if we've won our million!
