Prep for Livingstone
After a nice meal, Erin, Katy, Nichole, Michelle, OOZ, Stew-Dog, Downing,
Mike, Beth and I had a loud good time at Premuni's. Erin was very kind to
give Mike and Beth a short ride home to the Lima Garden's Guesthouse, only
for me to learn later that a bit of metal must have fatigued a bit too much
on the ride there. Erin was graceful about it, and I was guilt-ridden.
Then I went home and slept all right, although the alarm on the phone didn't
ring. I must have set it incorrectly.
Up around 5:30, I packed not only
for Livingstone, but to have my belongings out of the way of Nem Chem, a
company whose people are going to spray the Stringer's home today, with some
undoubtedly illegal insecticide (were this the United States). I was out of
the house, and made it straight to the Inter-city bus station in Lusaka. To
the Enquiries center, from which I was directed to a green shelter near the
entrance to the terminal. At the CR counter, I purchased tickets for Aggie,
Michelle, Stewart, Eva, and myself. 70 pin (K70,000 = < $20 USD) each, one
way, for first class seats. I'm told there are nine such seats on these
buses, and three were already booked, so I left with one remaining.
Now
some coffee service at the Holiday Inn, since the office isn't open yet.
Birds sing, and the fountain plays its watery music.
