I Want My Damn Scroll Bars!
Oi, more webpage ranting. This time: scrollbars. You know the nifty little codes that let you change the colors of the scrollbars for your webpage? They're really fun and they look pretty. But here's the problem, they only work in stupid internet explorer. That's because Microsoft, in its infinite stupidity, made up the codes themselves. Yes, that's right, they're not "official" code, Microsoft just pulled them out of their collective ass. So no other browser can use them. And nobody else seems to even want to use them. For some reason that I can not fathom, lots of people don't like the scrollbar code. They're all like "Oh how evil of you to try to force your horrible scroll bar colors on me! That's as offensive as pop ups! How dare you try to change my precious ugly gray scrollbars!" What the fuck? You'd think I was trying to force feed them Christianity or something, it's just a damn scrollbar! Why is it so awful? I think webpages look much better with matching scrollbars; it really pulls the page together and makes it very appealing to look at. Especially pages with iframes. In iframes, non matching scroll bars stick out like a sore thumb and really mess up the look of the page. But even pages without iframes, matching scroll bars look really nice. Now that I use Firefox I dearly miss colored scrollbars. I really see no reason why the WC3 can't accept the scrollbar code. If Microsoft wants to be as ass (which they usually do) and keep their precious scrollbar code proprietary, why can't the WC3 just make up their own code? They're the HTML people, that's what they do! And if some people still insist on being offended by having their scrollbars change color, browsers can have an option where you can enable or disable it. Then everybody's happy.
