Hey Megalomaniac!

Ugh.  One thing I can never understand is why some people insist on having ridiculously large images in there signatures.  The only thing I can figure is that they have such hugely inflated egos that they are blind to the fact that such large images look awful and no one wants to see them.  They absolutely drive me nuts!  It's not that they take long to load, I'm lucky enough to have a decent connection so images don't slow me down much; it's just that they look so tacky and hideous.  And people really should have consideration for others who do have slow connections.  Why do some people have such large sigs?  Don't they realize that others don't care to see the entire lyrics to their favorite song in 36 point font, or see a life size face shot of the actor they think is the hottest thing on the earth, or see 50 of their most beloved petz in a grainy jpeg with vast acres of blank space in between each one.  Do you really think people are impressed when you post a one line reply of "I agree" and then the rest of the screen is taken up by your big ass sig?  News flash:  They're not, because it looks stupid.  Now I'm exaggerating a bit, but you get the point.  Now I know sometimes it's hard to get the pic you want smaller and still have it look good, I've sometimes had a sig that I considered a little bit on the big side just because I really wanted to use the image but I couldn't make it smaller.  But come on, be reasonable, some sigs are just way too big!  But what are worse than big sigs are big avatars.  I can handle a sig that's slightly on the large side, but big avs send me into a blind rage.  I mean how on earth could anybody think it's a good idea to shove the entire post over five inches just so we can see a whole body shot of your St. Bernard or whatever??  That's insane!  The point of a forum is to discuss things, not to stroke your own egos, people!  But I really don't know which is worse, morons who use big sigs and avs, or moderators who don't enforce reasonable size limits.  Luckily most of the boards I visit regularly have reasonable rules on image sizes and most of the people behave sanely in that regard, but I've been to some that are just scary.
