Geometer's Sketchpad is a superb dynamic geometry program. Highly recommended.

Starry Night is an excellent desktop planetarium program.

This site provides a very complete explanation of gravity assist.

Last week after class, Mac Gardiner asked me about some of the instrumentation on the Mars Rover. It is a very sensitive detector for iron content and uses the Mossbauer Effect. This link explains the basic principle. This link describes the instrument on the Rover.
