8. The Wisconsin River flows through downtown Stevens Point and is known as the "hardest working river" in America because of the number of dams generating power along its path.
9. Every 4^th of July in Stevens Point there's a big celebration called Riverfront Rendezvous where the whole town gathers by the River and old and new friends meet.
10. When you live in Central Wisconsin, all your relatives and friends will visit you in summer. Even casual acquaintances you haven't seen in 15 years will show up.
11. Enjoy the outdoors in Stevens Point - the area has lots to offer in all four of its seasons.

16. Ride or walk the Green Circle Trail. It's 22 miles long and meanders along the Wisconsin and Plover Rivers and encircles Stevens Point and Plover.
17. For winter. Dress warm and ride snowmobiles or skis. Our roads are meticulously maintained, but you may want to buy an SUV for safe fun on ice and snow. We're only 35 minutes from the Rib Mountain ski area.
18. Plover is known as the "Heart of Wisconsin" because of its location and because it has "love" in the middle of it.
