Solution Option #1* : Highly Functional Photo Gallery with many interactive, database-driven features*. Photographer creates client galleries and uploads proofs through graphical interface.
*Requires server support of PHP and MySQL.

Solution #2*: ASP / Access solution. Strong-login protection. Photographer controls userid and pswd through graphical interface and FTP's proofs to server. Configurable number of proofs in interactive slide-show. Image protection.
