Trying to Form New Band

I am looking to start a new project to fill a hole in the local music Scene for the Worcester / South Central MA, and Northeastern Connecticut music scenes.  I have been trying to put a project together for about a year now and have not been successful.  I have come to believe it is due to a lack of directional goal setting and understanding of what the outcome should be.  With this in mind I have set out to put the following vision in writing and attempt to recruit the right people to make it happen.

I want this project to specifically target Hard Rock Classics.  There are a lot of Classic Rock bands around however they tend to be somewhat watered down from what I would want to hear when I am out for good time.  This is the list of Songs I would like to focus on and am willing to add and subtract as long as changes are still in the same line of attack - Guitar Heavy, Driving, Blues Oriented, Hard Rock.

I own a full studio/practice space in Thompson CT right on Mass Border. It features a full stage setup with lLights, drum riser, and five piece Premier drum kit (Pearl Export Quality).  I have all backline equipment in place Peavey 5150 Guitar rig with Peavey Musician 4x12 cabinet, GK Full Stack Bass Rig, 32 channel board running 4-15” wedge monitors through separate 16 channel mixer. Full front of house speaker system with 4 full range, and 4 sub cabinets, driven through 3-2500 wt Power Amps.

32 channel board also feeds digital recording setup with an Apple, Power Mac G5 running Logic Express software.

Also have a killer pool table in the studio

I am 44 years old and have been playing on and off since 1976. I play a variety of guitars:

·       Electric

o     Gibson Les Paul

o     Fender Stratocaster

o     Peavey- Eddie Van Halen Wolfgang

o     Epiphone DOT Archtop

o     Strat-body Hamer w/ Humbucker pickups

o     ESP LTD H-100

·       Acoustic

o     Ovation LX Six String Acoustic/Electric

o     Ibanez 12 string

o     Applause Six String

through a Marshall JCM 2000, TSL 100 head driving a full Marshall Stack w 2-4x12 cabs, one slant, one straight. I use a Boss GT-6 Effects/modeling board primarily to enhance that great Marshall Guitar tone.  I do not care for a lot of effects on my guitar as should be evident looking at the song list.  I like a nice pure tone with a lot of attitude.

I would like to have a band ready to begin playing out for the 2006 summer season.

I am looking for 3-4 additional members available to rehearse Fri or Sat nights or both:

·       Bassist

·       Drummer

·       2nd Guitar

·       Strong Vocalist (Singer/2nd Guitarist would be ideal)

Want people who:

·       Will do the homework to be prepared for rehearsals and eventually paying gigs

·       Are not in a hurry to play out before the sound is right

·       Do not have unmanageable vices or habits

·       Do not bring unattended kids to rehearsals

·       Do not have “Rock Star” Complex (This is primarily for fun and maybe a little pocket change if we get lucky and put something solid together)

If this sounds like something you would like to be part of please contact me at:
