    The week after I demonstrated my flute for Mrs. Hilbert's class, this is what they remembered.  I wrote down everything they said and they were very excited to read it back to me.

Ten Interesting Facts About the Flute

by Mrs. Hilbert's  First Grade Class at Bryson Elementary

  1. A flute has three parts, the mouthpiece, the body and the tail.

  2. A flute is long and skinny.  It is made of silver.

  3. A flute has keys.

  4. A flute is shiny.

  5. A flute plays in a band or an orchestra.

  6. A flute can play all sorts of songs.

  7. A flute can play, "Twinkle, Twinkle" and sound like a bird.

  8. Our favorite flute song is "Yankee Doodle."

  9. A flute can play high notes.

  10. A flute can play low notes, but not as low as our big Lollipop drum.  It's a bass drum.
