Twice a year now, the American Red
Cross has a motorcycle only Drag Race at the 1/8 mile Greer track. It is
part of a larger effort, including a huge Poker Run, to raise funds for the
Piedmont Chapter. This year, they had 4 classes: ET-1 (6.50 and quicker,
pro tree handicap start), ET-2 (7.50 and quicker, .500 tree handicap start),
Street ET (.500 tree, street legal bikes only, no wheelie bars) and Quick 8
(pro-tree, heads up). I entered in the ET-2 class which had around 25
bikes entered.
In time trials, I ran 4 passes at
6.98, 6.97, 6.96 and 6.94. In my first pass in eliminations, I dialed a
6.94 and ran a 6.95 and took the win on my opponents .009 breakout. In the
semi-finals, we were down to 3 bikes and I drew the bye run! Now to top
that off, I cut a perfect .500 light! In the final, I dialed a 6.96 and
ran a 6.97 with my opponent breaking out and got the second win of my career in
front many of my friends. What a night!
Stay tuned for more!
