Twice a year now, the American
Red Cross has a motorcycle only Drag Race at the 1/8 mile Greer track.
It is part of a larger effort, including a huge Poker Run, to raise funds
for the Piedmont Chapter. This year, they had 4 classes: ET-1 (6.50
and quicker, pro tree handicap start), ET-2 (7.50 and quicker, .500 tree
handicap start), Street ET (.500 tree, street legal bikes only, no wheelie
bars) and Quick 8 (pro-tree, heads up). I entered in the ET-1 class
which had around 18 bikes entered.
In time trials, I ran 3 passes
at 6.41, 6.55, and 6.57 cutting an average .015 light! In my first
three passes in eliminations, I dialed a 6.40 and cut some GREAT lights.
In the semi-finals, we were down to 3 bikes and I drew the bye run (same as
last year!!) In the final, I dialed a 6.50 and cut a little too good a
light at -.011 (RED) in front of many of my friends. Live by the
sword, die by the sword. What a night! I'll take second place,
happily!
Stay tuned for more!
And THANKS for visiting the
MAVRIK Racing pages!
