The British burned the 1790 and 1800 Census records of all states during the War of 1812 and only a few pages survive for viewing. The author, a genealogist for more than 30 years, has created a “census” from microfilms of the original Kentucky tax lists for the years 1799 and 1800 for Muhlenberg County.
