Civil War re-enactment on the
Belchertown common
July 8th- 9th,
2006
The Belchertown Lions Club will be selling
hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, French fries, soda and bottled water
during this two-day event sponsored by the Belchertown Stone House.
We will be setting up Friday (July 7th)
morning near the bandstand where we will have our fries
tent along side our food wagon (which will be used primarily for refrigeration,
storage and hot water for cleaning.)
Burgers and dogs will be cooked on a large gas grill on loan from the
This is a first-time endeavor for our
club…and we hope it becomes an annual event to bolster our present fund-raising
projects including the Super Raffle, B’town Fair and annual auction.
Much of the hard work has already been
done: The food wagon has been cleaned up top-to-bottom, new windows installed,
new faucet and drain, water system flushed and all of the gas appliances in
working order. The frialators have been
scraped, scoured, pressure washed…and ready for action.
However, in addition to needing help with
the set-up on Friday, we are in desperate need of our Lion membership’s help on
Saturday and Sunday as well. (The work sign-up sheet follows.)
