Jim Walter looks back on defining moments of his life from the unusual perspective of having heeded two humanitarian callings. After his ordination as a priest, Jim served two Episcopal parishes in Alabama, and then earned a doctoral degree that led to a 25 year career as Executive Director of the East Alabama Mental Health Center.Since 1995 he has served as a member of the clergy at St. John’s Episcopal church in Montgomery, where he is known for his compassionate wisdom and rich sense of humor, both of which are greatly in evidence in Moments of Forever.

Read Jim Walter’s book Moments of Forever. It evokes a basic theological principal experienced in an old adage, “Kindness in another’s troubles, Courage in your own.’

I am not in the business of promoting books but if you are what is called “old Montgomerian” or if you are an Episcopalian you have got to read Moments of Forever. As a matter of fact I am not an “old Montgomerian” and I am most assuredly not a “Whiskey-palian” (I am a Souther Baptist) but I couldn’t put the book down. It is authored by Jim ‘Cracker” Walter, priest at St. John’s Episcopal Church and a product of Snowdoun, Al.. I guarantee you that you will be laughing out loud at some of his stories and be almost moved to tears by others.
Bob Ingram, Syndicated Columnist & former TV Commentator
Jim Walter writes with eloquence. He has a gift for looking straight at life, without blinking, and his honesty has resulted in stories that are memorable, moving, and ultimately joyful. He’s frank; he’s funny; and his humility and affection come through as clearly as the pilgrimage he depicts.
