Born in Woodbridge, Middlesex County, New Jersey
(he was son of Jonathan and Ann Enyard Conger)
He served as a private from Middlesex County during Revolution
Served in Francis Vigo's militia
Served in campaign of Tippecanoe in 1811 (war of 1812)
In Northwest Territory he provided meat for Ft. Sackville.
He was on good terms with Indians and they
allowed him to hunt where he pleased
Conger's Creek is named for him
1790 married Mary Frederick Glass
Mary was born 1765 - died 1846
She was daughter of Sebastian Frederick Sr.
and widow of John Glass (he hailed from NJ)
