"Scratch" Catt
born 1750 - died September 4, 1844 (Knox Co., IN)
He was son of Michael Katz, Sr. and Annie Marie Mohr
(Annie Mohr was of the family that founded Mooresfield,
Virginia)
(they were married april 11, 1743 in Tulpehacker, PA)
While living in Brownsville, Pennsylvania he enlisted
in 1776 or 1777
with Capt. John Whitsell's Company, under the command
of Col. Brodhead (Brodhead was commanding officer at
Ft. Pitt)
He served several tours against the Indians under
Capt. Kincaid and Capt. Wilson
Enlisted in 1777 or 1778 in Capt. Morgan's Company
1782 enlisted in Capt. Jacob Tevibaugh's Company
(he later testified that he served here with Sebastian
Frederick, Jr.)
They marched to Sandusky Plains under Col. Crawford
They were defeated by Indians, Crawford was taken prisoner
Moved to the Northwest Territory in 1785
His sister, Anna Maria Catt married

September 22, 1778
