established Ft. Laurens, placed Col. John Gibson in command
sick and weary of his command, he returned to Philadelphia April 1779
Col. Daniel Brodhead took over for him at Ft. Pitt May 1779
1779 ordered to go participate in campaign to recapture Savannah (GA)
