From out of the past, Princeton Clarion
11/7/1888 – Shooting at Union on election day (Tuesday), John moore and Joe Penix had a shooting scrape at Union, ten miles west of Petersburg. The trouble came up over an old personal grudge. Six or seven shots were passed. Moore was hit once in the lower bowels, the ball pass very low, and entering the thigh. Penix has left. Moore is at Mrs. Colvins. He will recover it is believed.
