Come along on a bicycle tour!!

Southbridge, Massachusetts
March 1999

Leaving my house in the morning, this is what I would see.[pic] The construction crew was fast approaching my apartment's location.

Returning to home in the afternoon, from the opposite direction, [pic] I was greeted by this site. Just about to where I live.

One of the joys of bicycle riding, is to come upon a place that draws your attention, and lets you simply put everything out of your mind, except to watch the waters of a creek soothe your mind. [pic]

Approaching the company I work for, we have also some of the same construction going on. It's to lay water and sewer pipes for a new gas fired generating station being built. Here's one of the machines that makes a big noise, and keeps the youngsters attention for hours at a time. [pic]

Although there are a lot of bushes obscuring the way, The main building of Schott Fiber Optics is visible in the background area.[pic]

There came a break in the path to enable me to show you the building I work in during my days. It's the brick one in the back. Just behind the brick part, is one with white sides, a little higher at the roofline. That's the area I'm in.[pic]

Here is a better picture of the main building, with the American Optical tower visible in the background. The birth of the Fiber Optics industry happened at The AO company, back in 1954, in the building that I work in.(still use the same machines created back then)[pic]

Here's a little closer shot of the company, with a horseshoe pit just visible in the lower left, behind the handrailing. It's a nice area to have lunch at during the summer months.[pic]

Touring around the backside of the cemetery, I was approaching the road, when I happened to see this really big bird flying around the air, so I took this shot to try and capture the impact. (I didn't *s*) Look to the right side of the big green tree.(looks like a speck of dirt)[pic]

This is the Charlton Street School, for elementary children. And no, what you see in the foreground is not a direct result of the school's disciplanary measures. *snickers*[pic]

The creativity of children with the aid of teachers is very evident with this display of art, for the benefit of everyone. It is a great teaching aid, with the advantage of visual locations of familiar places.[pic]

Where there once was a nice walking area in the woods, has now transformed into several playing fields for school sports. it's a nice area, and peaceful to visit. There is still plenty of trails in the woods behind there to satisfy anyone's desires for some physical activity.[pic]

This last picture shows you what has now recently passed by the front of my apartment. [pic]
