Hi,
I'm Sara Hoppe. I am so
glad to be your child's teacher! I love what I do.
I was born in the Chicago area
where I grew up and went to college. I graduated from Northern Illinois
University in DeKalb. I met my husband at Northern. We were married
about two months before I graduated. My husband, Roy, was in the Air Force
at that time. We began our married life by getting to travel to New
Mexico, then later to Italy and finally we went back to the Chicago area.
We moved to Slidell in 1980 where we lived until 2002 when we bought our dream
place in Picayune, Mississippi. We have two acres on, what we think is, a
lovely 74 acre lake.
Our family includes two great
kids. Both are grown. Our eldest, a son,
Aaron lives in Slidell. Our daughter, Kathryn, and her husband, Arnie, and
our precious granddaughter, Saralina, live in Hattiesburg,
MS. All of us get together frequently and enjoy each others company.
I have been teaching for quite
a while. Most of my teaching experience has been in Kindergarten. I
have also taught preschool, first grade and third grade. This will be my 20th year of teaching Kindergarten.
I love seeing young children think, marvel at the wonders of our world and learn,
learn, learn! I truly
enjoy having the first "big school" opportunity to prepare little ones
to be
life-long learners. Having taught first grade for six years, I have a good idea of what a Kindergartener needs to know and be able to
do to be ready for first grade. With the cooperation of you, the parents
and family, your young student and myself we can work together to make this a
great year of learning, fun and success!
Kindergarten Rocks!
Sincerely,
Sara Hoppe
