My bridal shower was this past Sunday and it was a blast. My mom was the hostess and the theme was a luau. From what I can tell everyone that attended had a great time. The menu was finger sandwiches, chips, lots of fruit, a cake with a sunset/beach design with palm trees in the corners, and pineapple - 7up punch.
Everyone received a gift bag with goodies and mini candy bars. Also in each bag was a number and if the number matched the one drawn then you received a candle. We played "Dime in a Bottle" and "Wedding Dress". For those of you who have never been blessed with these games "Dime in a Bottle" is where you have to hold a dime between your knees and walk 5 to 10 feet then drop the dime into a bottle with a mouth of about an inch and a half. This is not an easy task. It's truly hysterical to watch though! My mom and Susie were the only ones to get the dime in the bottle. We had to have two tiebreakers before Susie won. Her prize was a pretty butterfly wind chime that mom found at a craft store. "Wedding Dress" is where you divide into teams and one person on each team is then elected to be the model. Each team then has about 10 minutes to create a wedding dress out of nothing but toilet paper. The bride-to-be then judges the dresses. The team made up of my mom, godmother, Kay, Susie, and Felicia won this one. The prizes were an iron dragonfly candleholder or a perfume bottle.
We got way more presents than I thought we would. Truth be told I just wanted to hangout and play all the games. *grin* I'm in the process of filling out thank you cards for everyone right now. Everybody went out of the way for us and that was very nice of them.
