Camelot

A law was made a distant moon ago here
July and August cannot be too hot
And there's a legal limit to the snow here
In Camelot

The winter is forbidden 'till December
And exits March the second on the dot
By order summer lingers through September
In Camelot

Camelot, Camelot
I know it sounds a bit bizarre
But in Camelot, Camelot
That's how conditions are

The rain may never fall 'till after sundown
By eight the morning fog must disappear
In short, there's simply not a more congenial spot
For happily-ever-aftering
Than here in Camelot

Camelot, Camelot
I know it gives a person pause
But in Camelot, Camelot
Those are the legal laws

The snow may never slush upon the hillside
By nine PM the moonlight must appear
In short, there's simply not a more congenial spot
For happily-ever-aftering, Than here in Camelot.

Richard Harris passed away Friday at University College Hospital. He was 72. Camelot the musical, was the first thing I ever saw Richard in even though it was about 10 years after it was originally released. To this day there is something about the song that stays with me. I'm not sure if it's his voice or the idea that Camelot embodies. I would eventually see A Man Called Horse, but again not until several years after it's release. Most recently we all came to love Richard as Professor Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwart's Academy. Muggle or Magical one couldn't help but listen when the Professor spoke. I've made myself tear-up. Thank you for your body of work Mr. Harris.
