A continuation...

I've never been one to make a New Year's resolution per se but this year I decided it was time to make a few changes in my life.

I will...
...find my niche. The place where I belong, am happiest, in the job world.
...get back in shape. I've let myself go for too long.
...make art. I have no idea what medium it will take. I have stories floating in my head, I'd like to play piano, and learn to draw better.

So on January 23rd, after looking at several options, I started Slim Fast. It's not at all what I expected. I thought it was drink just shakes and starve to death. It's not. It's portion control, cutting down your calorie intake, and exercise. The main things I've done so far are switching to 2% milk, cutting down on soda, and eating more vegetables. Nothing really crazy. I might have a shake and french toast for breakfast one day and cereal the next. With only minimal exercise, walking on my breaks at work, I've lost 12 pounds. I'm happy with that.

Sadly I haven't made much headway on the other things on my list but it's only March and the year is still young.
