Still in the air
Well I went to lunch with the owner to discuss Friday. It was pretty much a waste of time. I told him that I felt like the fact that he knew I could handle everything alone was being taken advantage of and that I've worked here longer than any other employee and it wasn't fair that I had to work and everyone else was off because they were going with him to the river.

And after you told him about your concerns and very reasonable upset, he attempted to lamely validate your statements with the empty pandering his business degree taught him is the proper way to handle such situations while never actually fixing a goddamn thing. I'll bet he even admitted that he was wrong but offered not a single resolution that would interrupt his weekend plans.
Then you busted out a 12-gauge and shoved it up -- Wait, sorry. That last bit was just a Jiminy Cricket moment.
Sadly the only thing that I can come up with is Chris Farley yelling something about living in a van down by the river.
His response was that he would speak to the new guy and tell him he had to stay and work Friday. I'm just waiting to see what happens. I'm not discussing anything with the new guy and if he doesn't show or leaves early I will be as well.
