Here I am loading the new Sinclair antenna that
was installed on the Fall River 145.15 repeater.
My mobile installation is built around a 2000 Chevy Tahoe. I am running an Icom 706-MKIIG HF/VHF/UHF radio. For 2 Meters & 432 MHz, I am using a Diamond SG-7900 antenna mounted through the middle of the roof. For HF I am running the first customer installed version of a "High Q Stealth Sleeve", specially made for me by Charlie (VE7BOC/W6). This is a large screwdriver style antenna that will tune from 160 through 10 Meters. I have optimized this antenna for 160 Meters by adding in a large capacitance hat, and I repeatedly get signal reports that I am the strongest 160 mobile signal they have ever heard on the band! I consistently get S9+20 dB signal reports all through the Northeast. To help with these signal reports, I am also running an RF Electronics Skywalker 500 HF amplifier that I assembled from a kit, which easily produces 500 Watts of RF with 50 Watts of drive from the 706, and added in plenty of RF grounding straps between the antenna mount, truck chassis, body, and exhaust system.
