At the Shed, Phil has a great view of Grass Lake. There is a 90 foot high granite cliff that the camp is at the top of. To get to the water, Phil has constructed a very elaborate wooden walkway that weaves it's way down the cliff to a floating dock at the lake's edge.

This is the view of the lake from the front porch of The Shed.

This is the view from the top of the walkway.

This is the view near the bottom of the walkway.

This is Phil's new boat and floating dock. It was nothing less than exciting trying to launch the boat from what is supposed to be a State Boat Ramp. It was no more than a narrow foot path that goes straight into shallow water and 100 yards of lilly pads! When the boat trailer was backed into the ramp, which took 3 attempts because there was so little room, there was literally a pile of mud built up against the boat that almost spilled over the stern! This was after driving about 8 miles through dirt lanes getting there. Phil had to remove the engine from the boat and push his way through the muck Tom Sawyer style to get into deeper water. Unfortunately I didn't have the camera with me for this adventure.

Here is a small part of the view of the lake from the boat dock. The granite cliff faces almost make this lake look like it was once a quarry, but it is all natural formations, which makes it all the more spectacular.
