Welcome to the digital page for the Alexander Amateur Radio Association. We are heavily involved with APRS and maintain the W4ERT-4 Digipeater atop Linneys mountain in Taylorsville, NC. Along side of the aprs node, we have a working packet node (ALEX) on a frequency of 145.090 MHz with a public Mailbox. We hope you will enjoy both systems!

Local APRS users usually listen on the local VHF repeater, feel free to use our voice repeaters too! 147.195+ (94.8) & 441.625. The Vhf repeater has a 24/7 Echolink node for public use, 56135. We look forward to hearing from you, give us a call.

Our area offers several mountain top Digipeaters around the Foothills of North Carolina. The local I-Gate is located in the town of Taylorsville.

Thought I would add a little information about each of us here. We are active ARES RACES members and enjoy volunteering in our community. We use APRS in our drills along with our daily activities. Here is a local APRS map of current activities.

N4NNX John

I am currently the Training Officer for the local ARES RACES group and active on APRS, 145.090 Packet and VHF/UHF voice. I also maintain the local I-Gate and message server. My wife Lisa is also Licensed as KI4YWE Where is John now? N4NNX-9 .

KE4TSC Bradley

Bradley is currently the Treasurer and Technical support person for the local ARES RACES group. Bradley maintains the two local voice repeaters and the packet node in the local area. He is active on Vhf, Uhf, HF, 6Mtrs and 220MHz along with packet on 145.090. His entire family is licensed. His son Brian is KG4TRP and his wife Sandy is KG4TRO both are active ARES RACES members. W4AW & W4ETJ Jonnie &Gail

Jonnie is currently our web master for the group and has served as the EC, editor and just about every known position possible. You can view his work on our homepage. He is active on virtually every part of the spectrum to include the digital HF modes. He is also one of our Volunteer examiners. Gail is an active member in our group and has recently been spotted on the aprs map enjoying her new tracker! Where are Jonnie and Gail now? W4AW-9, W4ETJ-9.
