Game Summaries-
September 20. Grace Labrecque scored the only goal of the game off an assist from Lauren Brown as TKO beat LSC United 1-0 on Saturday. Grace and Shelby Humphries combined for the shutout in goal. TKO's league record is now 2-0.
September 27. TKO lost in the State Cup Quarterfinals in Saginaw on Saturday to eventual state champ Vardar, 6-0. Vardar played a great game and held TKO without a shot on goal.
October 4. The girls jumped back into league action with two home games the first weekend of October. On Saturday, TKO tied Grand Valley Premier West, a State Cup Semifinalist, 1-1. Left fullback Kayla Snyder put TKO ahead with a 30 yard diagonal shot from the left side early in the second half. Nicole Bentz made numerous saves in goal in the second half to keep the lead. However, GVP West scored on a free kick from out front with less than two minutes remaining to tie the game.
October 5. On Sunday, TKO remained unbeaten in league play with a 4-0 win over Ann Arbor United. The first goal was an own goal as Cassie VanderSloot's cross was misplayed by an AAU defender. Jaclyn Sylvain drilled a cross from Sarah Wilsey to increase the lead to 2-0 in the first half. In the second half, central defender Taylor Callen rocketed a shot from 25 yards out to make it 3-0. The fourth and final goal was awesome!!!! Megan Putnam headed one of Sarah Wilsey's patented "flip throws" into the upper left corner.
October 11. TKO played well in their early morning October 11 game in Rochester. The Thunder did not have a shot on goal in the 7-0 TKO victory. Megan Putnam and Grace Labrecque each scored two goals while Nicole Bentz, Shelby Humphries, and Sarah Wilsey also scored. Lauren Brown and Jaclyn Sylvain both had two assists and Liz Ruimveld and Sarah Wilsey added one each.
October 12. TKO returned home for their October 12 game versus the undefeated Michigan Gators Orange, a 2-2 tie. Taylor Callen scored the first goal of the game on a direct kick from just outside the penalty area and TKO lead 1-0 at the half. After the Gators tied the game early in the second half, Megan Putnam put TKO ahead again on a cross from Shelby Humphries. The Gators tied the game again a few minutes later on a breakaway.
October 18. Megan Putnam scored the first TKO goal 13 seconds into the game October 18 at Huron Valley as the girls won 7-0. Megan added a second goal and five of her teammates added goals-Taylor Callen, Natalie Hall, Shelby Humphries, Erika Jansen, and Jaclyn Sylvain. Lauren Brown, Natalie Hall, Grace Labrecque, Taylore Peterson, and Kayla Snyder each had an assist. Shelby, Grace, Jaclyn, and Sarah Wilsey combined for the shutout.
October 19. TKO remained undefeated in league play October 19 at Brighton, winning 3-0. Nicole Bentz finished a cross from Taylore Peterson 49 seconds into the game to put TKO up 1-0. Taylore added another assist on a goal from Megan Putnam, then scored off a pass from Lauren Brown. All three goals came in the first half. Shelby, Nicole, and Sarah combined for the shutout.
