Your ENF Dollars at Work
Do you remember when you joined the Elks and one of the
statements made to you in order to help you decide in the positive was something
to the effect, "That if something should happen to you while you are an
Elk, the Elks National Foundation will help pay the tuition of your children to
go to college,"?
I have heard it many times and I have used it many times, but rarely have I
heard about it happening. I am proud to tell you that this year the Elks
National Foundation has awarded $9,300. to 4 children of Nebraska Elks to attend
college in 2004-05. These are called Emergency Fund Grants and this
is the insurance policy that most of us talk about when we recruit new members
with children.
This is not only another reason for joining the Elks, but another good reason
for making contributions to the Elks National Foundation. If you know of
an Elk who is incapacitated or has died and that his or her children need help
to go to college, talk to your Exalted Ruler who can make the contact with your
District Deputy to help make arrangements for an Emergency Fund Grant.
