The Elks National Foundation Grants $28,968 to Nebraska

CHICAGO, Illinois--The Elks National Foundation (ENF) has awarded the Nebraska Elks Association a special project grant of $28,968.  Through state grants, the ENF provides state associations with the resources to support national programs, expand their existing charitable projects, and explore new initiatives.

Nebraska has received a total of $255,600 in special project grants since the grant was established in 1995.  Each state decides how to allocate the grant to benefit their philanthropic objectives.

In August, Nebraska, will receive a major project grant of $21,170 to help fund the state's major charitable project, as well as provide support for local scholarships, Hoop Shoot and other programs.  In contrast to the fixed amount awarded with the special project grants, the major project grant amounts are based on state giving totals to the ENF.  The more gifts the Foundation receives from donors in Nebraska, the more funds the ENF provides to support the children, families, and veterans in the state.

Each year, the Foundation strives to give more money to each state association than the state donated to the Foundation the previous year. During the 2003-04 year, donors in Nebraska contributed $32, 119 to the ENF, allowing the Foundation to award $2.37 back to the state for every dollar received.

Every gift from your state helps the Nebraska Elks Association to provide a better life for the families and children in your community. To learn more about how the ENF is making a difference in your state, visit www.elks.org/enf/yourstate.cfm.
