Nebraska Hoop Shooters Compete at Denver Regionals

    Six Nebraska Hoop Shooters participated in the Denver Regionals on Saturday, March 13.  The final results showed one first place finisher, one second place finisher, one third place finisher, and 3 fourth place finishers.
    Keegan Hansen, son of Jeff and Tina Hansen of Scottsbluff, captured the first place trophy in the Boys 8-9 yr old competition and will advance to the Elks Hoop Shoot National Finals to be held at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass., April 22nd through 25th.  Keegan represented the Scottsbluff Elks Lodge and  made 22 of 25 foul shots to win the opportunity to advance to national competition.
    Capturing a second place award was Shanelle Farmer of Hastings. Shanelle made 17 of 25 foul shots while shooting in the Girls 8-9 yr old competition.
    A third place award went to Paige Nielsen of Lincoln. Paige made 17 of 25 foul shots in the Girls 10-11 yr old competition.
    Fourth place finishes went to Colt Washa of Ogallala, Alexandra Cape of Sidney, and Josh Reinertson of Gibbon.  Colt was shooting for the Ogallala Elks Lodge in the 10-11 yr old Boys Division and made 18 of 25 foul shots.   Alexandra represented the Sidney Elks Lodge in the 12-13 yr old Girls Division and made 13 of 25 foul shots.  Josh, a former regional champ representing the Kearney Elks Lodge made 19 of 25 foul shots.
