The Nebraska Elks Association Division 1 Hoop Shoot Foul Shooting competition was held
Saturday, January 24th, at the York High School Gymnasium.
The final results are the following:
8-9 yr old girls
1. Caleigh Diekmann from Utica representing the York Elks Lodge
2. Paige Marsden from Norfolk Montessori representing the Norfolk Elks Lodge
8-9 yr old boys
1. Jimmy Woelfel from Willa Cather School, Omaha Elks Lodge*
2. Zachery Polk from Clarkson Elem., Norfolk Elks Lodge*
* a two five-shot playoff was necessary to decide the winner. Both Jimmy and Zach made 4 of 5
shots in the first go-around while Jimmy hit all 5 shots in the second go-around while Zach missed
one shot.
10-11 yr old girls
1. Samantha Licari from North Park School, Columbus Elks Lodge
2. Stephanie Thompson from Cross Co Comm. School in Stromsburg, York Elks Lodge. Samantha
is a past national participant
10-11 yr old boys
1. Josh Herscheid of Stanton Elem.School, Norfolk Elks Lodge
2. Taylor Fleeman from Centennial School, Columbus Elks Lodge
12-13 yr old girls
1. Amanda Woelfel from Millard North Middle School, Omaha Elks Lodge
2. Megan Kuska from Exeter, York Elks Lodge
12-13 yr old boys
1. Ryan Klein of Wakefield Community School, Norfolk Elks Lodge
2. Nathan Foley of Waco, York Elks Lodge
First place winners will advance to the Nebraska Elks Association state hoop shoot finals to be held
Saturday, February 7th, at the Grand Island Northwest High School gym.
