Membership Awardees Named
The Nebraska Elks Association recognized a number of Elks and Elk Lodges at the Saturday morning session of their 93rd Annual State Convention in North Platte.
Dean Shafer, the association's Membership Chair, awarded the Kearney Elks Lodge for most members gained in the past year. Accepting the award for the Kearney Elks Lodge was their Exalted Ruler (President) Matthew Kampfe.
Three Elk District recruiting champions were also named by Shafer. In the East District, Norm Pinkelman from the Columbus Elks Lodge recruited the most new Elks members. The Central District's champion recruiter was Stanley Kimmey from the Ainsworth Elks Lodge. Larry Horstman from the Cozad Elks Lodge and Jim Knoll from the Ogallala Elks Lodge shared the title of top recruiter in the association's West District.
Wrist watches were presented by the association's 1st Vice President Terry Kramer to the following Elks for recruiting 11 or more to members to the Elks: Stanley Kimmey, Ainsworth Elks; Dennis Garrels and Dean Shafer, Grand Island Elks; Joe Thompson, Hastings Elks; Larry Horstman, Cozad Elks; and Jim Knoll, Ogallala Elks.
