OMAHA #39 ENDORSES JAMES C. VLECK FOR SECRETARY—NEBRASKA STATE ELKS ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the officers and members of Omaha Lodge No. 39 do appreciate and recognize with pride the outstanding and dedicated service given to it, to the Nebraska State Elks Association, and to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America by James C. Vleck; and
WHEREAS, he was initiated into Omaha Lodge No. 39 in 1985, progressed through the chairs and served with distinction as Exalted Ruler in 1989-1990, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1990-1993, as Chairman of many statutory and special committees, including the Elks National foundation Committee in 1994-1995, as Co-Chairman, as Chairman of the Ritualistic Committee from 1989 to Present, as President of the PER Association, as a member of the Lodge’s ENTER Committee, and was named Omaha Lodge No. 39 Officer of the Year for 1992-1993, as Tiler from 1994 to Present, as Chairman of the Indoctrination Committee, and as Co-Chairman of Hoop Shoot and Soccer Shoot; and
WHEREAS, he has served the Nebraska State Elks Association as a member of the State Convention Committee in 1989-1990, as President of the State PER Association in 1990, as the State Chaplain in 1992-1993, as the Chairman of the East Co-District for the Elks National Foundation in 1994-1995, as Co-Chairman for the State Convention Committee in 1993, as Chairman for the Lodge Activities Committee from 1995-1998, as Chairman of the State Directory from 1995-2001 and 2004-2005, as Recipient of the George B. Klein Award for dedication to ritualistic work in 1998-1999, as Chairman of the WWII Memorial Fund 2000-2003, as State President in 2001-2002, as Co-Chairman of Exalted Ruler/Secretary Seminar in 2003-2004, and as Chairman of Elks Training Committee in 2003-2004; and
WHEREAS, he has served the Grand Lodge as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler in 1996-1997; and
WHEREAS, he has served his country with distinction in the United States Air Force, and was Honorably Discharged; and
WHEREAS, with the aid and support of his loving wife of 40 years, Erma, and their two children, Robert and Lisa, and their five grandchildren, he has also served his community as a member of American Legion Post 374, and several other civic and patriotic organizations; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that Omaha, Nebraska Lodge No. 39 is privileged and honored to present to the Nebraska State Elks Association Convention in North Platte, Nebraska, the name of James C. Vleck for the office of Secretary of the Nebraska State Elks Association.
