Elks National President to Visit Nebraska

James M. McQuillan, the national president of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and a resident of Ogallala, Nebraska, will be making his official visit as Grand Exalted Ruler to the Nebraska Elks Association Annual Fall Conference to be held in Grand Island August 27 through 29th.  McQuillan will congratulate the Nebraska Elks Association members on their many successful charitable and patriotic accomplishments in the various communities throughout the state.

As the Elks' Grand Exalted Ruler, the Order's title for its highest office, McQuillan is responsible for promoting the BPO Elks' key goals of community service; assistance for the handicapped, veterans, and the less fortunate; and sponsorship of youth programs and scholarships.  "The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is a terrific organization," says McQuillan, "and each day more than 1 million members find new ways of helping others.  By providing college scholarships to bright students, helping disabled children, and lending comfort to our nation's great veterans, Elks Lodges across the country make positive changes in their communities."

During his term of office, McQuillan has attended state Elks association conventions, met with government officials and community leaders, and traveled to many Elks Lodges.

McQuillan, his wife Karen, and the McQuillan family  will be the honored guests at the weekend conference and will have the opportunity to witness an Americanism Workshop on "Honoring the Flag;" and a workshop on the "Nebraska Elks Association Drug Awareness" Progam.  After a reception in McQuillan's honor on Saturday evening, McQuillan will give the main address of the conference.
