Nebraska Ritual Champions

Ogallala Elks Lodge won the first place team award in the Nebraska Elks Association annual Ritual competition. The competition was held at the state convention in North Platte's Sandhills Convention Center during the weekend of April 30 to May 2nd.

Ogallala will now represent the state of Nebraska at the annual Grand Lodge Convention to be held in Minneapolis from July 4th to July 9th.

Capturing second place was the Omaha Elks Lodge, third place went to Sidney Elks, fourth place to Grand Island Elks, and finishing in fifth place was the York Elks Lodge.

The All-Nebraska Ritual Team consisted of the following Elks:

Candidate-- Jacob Mueller, Ogallala Elks
Coach- Ken Presner, Ogallala Elks
Inner Guard- Michael Wheeler, Omaha Elks
Chaplin- Jeff Bower, York Elks
Esquire- Travis Haggard, Ogallala Elks
Lecturing Knight- Not Available
Loyal Knight- James V. McQuillan, Ogallala Elks Lodge
Leading Knight- Scott Jeffers, Ogallala Elks Lodge
Exalted Ruler- Pete Hasse, Grand Island Elks Lodge

The Knutsman Award for the highest score in the Ritual competition went to Drew Crab of Ogallala.   Pete Hasse of Grand Island captured the Flag Tribute Contest and the Eleven O'clock Toast went to Keith Jones of the Sidney Lodge.

The prestigious George B. Kline Award for dedication to Ritual went to state Ritual Chairman Rich Todd of Lincoln.  Todd is a longtime Ritual Judge and has served the state well as Ritual Chairman.
