Our Angel Lily Ruth Fluff Oct. 18, 1993- Aug. 2, 2008 |
Lily Ruth Fluff, 14 years and 9 months old, passed away peacefully
surrounded by her family Sat., Aug. 2, 2008 after a brief bout with liver
failure. Lily was a native of Ohio, but spent most of her life in Middle
Tennysea before coming to live at Barney's Orphanage in 2002. The Woofster was preceded in death by her 90 yr. old first owner, her sister Silver and beloved brother Barney the Corgihuahua, her Auntie M, and her dear friend Mystery the Famous Sheltie. Lily Woof took great pride in her florescent carrot orange fluffy coat and was particularly proud that not only was she a fluff, she was a mismark as well. Her deep alto voice will long be remembered by neighbors and friends. She was particularly fond of singing, "This Is The Day The Boss Hath Made" and other favorites as she ran out the door early in the mornings. Woofy had Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency but was an activist for dogs afflicted with it, working tirelessly to prove that EPI cannot hold a good dog back. She modeled extensively for Heavenly Designs by Silver Direct from Paris for CorgiAid auctions. She traveled the globe (wellp, at least part of it), attending CorgiAid picnics and entering Fluffiest Fluff contests. In her last year, she attended 4 picnics in just 8 months, giving new meaning to the words "Party Animule." She earned her PHC at a Herding Fun Day in 2003. Lily Ruth delighted in eating, and came up with many innovative recipes for EPI dogs, including a birthday cake made from her prescription i/d food. Lily was well known for prancing around on her hind legs and doing her Dinner Dance before she ate, four times a day. It was a sight to behold. Lily leaves to mourn: her parents, Susiemom and Waynedaddy, her brother Chessy (& Bob the Tail), her sisters Paris Lynn, Noelle Moorie Doodlybug, and her orphan sisters Maddie Joyce Doodlebug and Mysti JoAnn Doodlebug all of the home. She is also survived by her dear friends Kinsey Marie Sheltie of IL, Spense Sheltie, and Shandy the Corgicanardly of Tennysea. Lily's favorite charities were CorgiAid, which saved her life in 2002 and Cumberland County Humane Society from whence she came. Lily asked that we extend our appreciation to Kingsport Veterinary Hospital and her beloved acupuncture vet, Dr. O. at Pinecrest Vet Clinic for their good care of Lily Ruth all these years. Services were held in Silver's Memorial Garden inside Fort Corgi. |
