Sutherlin Light Parade December 19, 2009 was a good night for a parade.  52F, no wind, no rain, but foggy. These pictures were taken at the staging area when the floats weren't moving. Impressive float from Douglas Forest Protective Association (fire fighters). Huge overhang for the reindeer. Sutherlin High School band Wanna-be loggers from Sutherlin Christian School This was a very long trailer. I like the rope lights on the cables. I helped decorate and rode in the Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle. The parade ended at the Sutherlin Community center where gingerbread houses were on display. This simple design was the winner.  All the others were traditional A-frames with much fancier decoration.
