LVT-2 WRECKAGE OFF SOUTHERN GREEN BEACH
( CAMERA LOOKING NORTHEAST)
Notice that, if you look
above the LVT(2) wreckage, you can see the LVT(1)
wreckage in the distance. The green point,
seen in the background, is the northwest corner of Betio Island> It is often called
the "Bird's Beak."
One thing that can easily be seen in this
photo is the double-cupped track design of the LVT(2),
which is quite different from the single-blade track design of the LVT(1).
