Program 2 –
Room Painting
Overview:
Assume you’re a painter and you’d like to come up with a system so you
can give someone an accurate price quote before you start each job. You decide to write a program to help you
out. Through your experience, you’ve
gathered the following facts:
Ø A gallon of paint covers about 80
square feet of wall/ceiling.
Ø An average gallon of paint costs
24.99.
Ø Sales tax is 6% (Paint is taxed, but
labor is not.)
Ø You can paint about 30 square feet per
hour.
Ø You charge $15.50 per hour for labor.
Your program
should provide an itemized price quote based on the dimensions of the
room. An itemized quote will list paint
costs, sales tax, and labor costs along with the grand total.
Check
Figure: A 10x12x8 room should cost about $400.15 to
paint.
Make sure you use Constants where
appropriate!
