Welcome to the Ann Arbor Camera Club!
"A photograph sees
beneath the surface
and records the
qualities
of nature
and humanity which
live in all things."
--Ansel Adams
Our 50 year old Club is dedicated and committed to the photographic experience - to learning, to experiment, to skill improvement and, most of all, to inspiration. All aspects of photo practice are welcomed - film, digital, black & white, color, large format. You will discover all club members are interested, knowledgeable and passionate about photography.
The Club encourages involvement in many types of photographic endeavors, involving both film based and digital methods. Some of our activities have included: field trips (both day and weekend retreats), exhibitions of members' photographs, workshops, promotion of various photographic events and guest speakers.
- The Ann Arbor Camera Club is an unaffiliated organization which views photography as an art form and as a hobby.
- The Club's aim is to promote growth in the appreciation and skill in the making of images of all kinds.
- Our informal gatherings offer an opportunity for learning more about the exciting world of photography.
- Club members from the southeastern Michigan area, range in experience from the beginner to the professional exhibitor.
Club meetings consist of a program on various photographic topics followed by the exhibition and discussion of members' digital images and traditional slides (first Tuesday) and prints (third Tuesday). There are both an open and an assignment category for presentation of members' images.
We believe sincerely that we can learn from one another and that through viewing skillfully composed images our own photographic craftsmanship will be enhanced and honed.
