Penny Pate Dillon
- About the Artist-

Penny Pate Dillon has been involved in the arts all of her professional life. After receiving a Fine Art Degree from Washington University in St. Louis and additional training in Commercial Art at Kansas City Art Institute, she went on to a full-time career in the fine arts. From a classroom art teacher, to art supervisor, commercial artist, and fashion illustrator, today Penny is a commission oil painter, and loves every minute. She is recognized throughout the United States and in Mexico for her colorful paintings, with an emphasis on design.

Penny recently moved to Kansas City and makes her studio in her dining room because of the ample north light.“It’s different from any studio I’ve ever owned,” Penny says. “This is the first time the studio has been in the center of the house. It makes problem-solving so convenient, and it's a constant painting magnet for me."“As a Commission Painter I enjoy teaching, pleasing and involving the client in their own painting. The painting almost becomes a member of their family, so to speak.” Some of the commissions have become what she calls "out of town commissions," because although they are often done from photos, sometimes she travels to paint them.
