This Zebra Dun
Gelding was born on April 29, 1997 and has been handled extensively since
birth.
We expect a grown height to be around 14.2. He has a very natural
gait, a warm and willing personality, and has very good ground manners.
He trailers very well. Click here to view his pedigree
In the summer of 1997, We brought him into the showring on two occassions, and he loved the attention. He has a beautifully refined head, akin to his sire, Catalan de Contrafuego. He has the sharp intelligence of his dam, Rainbows Expresiva (watch those gates, he is a talented escape artist!)
In the summers of 1998 and 1999, he was shown at the Heartland Classic, the MidAmerica Region's summer show for Paso Finos. He accumulated 160 points during those two summers, bringing home Reserve Champion for Bella Forma Geldings each year. (Bella Forma is the Paso Fino equivalent of a halter class). He enjoyed his time down in Mason City, learning all about being bathed until squeaky clean, tolerating sprays, wipes, combs, hoof polish and gaining patience. He came home from the show with increased confidence in himself ... it continues to show in everything we have done since. He's a very quick learner. Thunder has had 10 weeks professional training with Lindsey Moes, Belleza Stables, Iowa. She found him to be a joy to work with, quick to learn and fun to ride. He was exposed to the showring, as well as the trails, and handled everything very well!
We
are proud to have this photo used in the brochure for the new magazine, The
Gaited Horse , and included in the new book "GAITS OF GOLD", published
by CrossOver Publications and due to be released the week of June 8th,
1998. The photo clearly shows that, indeed, the gait is inherited,
as he is only 3 days old in this photo!
Trueno's bloodlines include Contrafuego
(Contrapunto) on his sire's side, and Imperio (Majestuoso) on his dam's
side. In fact, his dam, Rainbows Expresiva, was the first foal born
from an Imperio mating. Imperio was the Grand National Paso Pleasure
Champion in 1994 and 1995 respectively. Imperio is a stunning horse,
with an incredible largo and is a joy to watch in the showring.
Under saddle and fuzzy for the
Minnesota winter!
Trueno de Catalan (a.k.a. "Thunder")
is for sale only due to our lack of space at this time. If I had
my druthers, I'd never sell him! . He has lots of potential.
Please inquire if you have any questions regarding this horse, or if I
can help you find the Paso Fino to fit your particular needs.
