From the Airport From the Fort Myers Southwest International Airport, take the Pine Island Taxi (239 283 7777, $60 for up to three people, $8 each thereafter). For $10 they will stop for your groceries at the Publix below. The Pine Island Taxi will then take you to the water taxi at one of the grocery stores and/or marinas below. If driving from the airport, take the Treeline Ave Ext and turn left onto Daniels Pky ond take Hwy 75 north to the exit 143 and go west on Bayshore as below Or take Treeline Ave Ext and turn left onto Daniels Parkway. Turn right onto HWY 41 and go several bloks and turn left onto College Pkwy which turns into Cape Coral Pkwy. Turn right onto Chiquata Blvd. Turn left onto Hwy 78 or Pine Island Road and you will pass the Publix Pine Island and not the Publix Cape Coral. From Interstate Hwy 75 If driving on Interstate Hwy 75 get off at exit 143, Florida Hwy 78/Bayshore Rd. Go west and Bayshore turns into Pine Island Road. and/or go on to Pine Island and Stringfellow/County Hwy 767 (28 miles from Hwy 75 to Stringfellow). To go to the following: A. Publix Cape Coral After you cross Santa Barbara stop for groceries at the Publix, Cape Coral on Hancock Bridge Pkwy (239 458 8900, Fax 239 458 7822), who will have your Faxed boat order ready on your date and time of arrival. They double bag groceries and pack perishables in Styrofoam and ice. Confirm your Faxed order by phone and give at least 24 hours notice to the Publix. B. Publix Pine Island If you continue on Pine Island Road to Veterans Parkway, there is another Publix. (239 282 5530, Fax 239 282 5533, who will have your Faxed boat order ready on your date and time of arrival. They double bag groceries and pack perishables in Styrofoam and ice. Confirm your Faxed order by phone and give at least 24 hours notice to the Publix. A. Winn Dixie. Turn left, south onto Stringfellow and go several blocks to the grocery on your left. B. Pineland Marina (239 283 3593, 13921 Waterfront, Pineland FL 33945). Turn right, north onto Stringfellow and go 3 miles and turn left onto Pineland Rd. The road turns right and into Waterfront. Turn left into the marina which has parking ($15/day), a boat ramp and a water taxi. The water taxi and kayak rental is the Tropic Star (239 283 0015, Vince's Cell-239 872 6016, $70 each way per boat load, two hours plus notice). C. Bokeelia Marina (239 283 8400,Becky, 16499 Porto Bella, Bokeelia FL 33922). Turn right, north onto Stringfellow and go approximaately 9 miles and turn right onto Barrancas and go to Porto Bello and turn left and go to the marina which has no boat ramp. D. Bocilla Marina (239 283 5005, 8115 Main Street, Bokeelia FL 33922). Turn right, north onto Stringfellow and go approximately 10 miles and just after the road turns left and turns into Main Street, turn left into the marina which has parking ($7/day), a boat ramp and water taxies. E. Water Taxis 1. Capt. Dan Ballou operates a water taxi, (239 246 6499, $70 each way per boat load, two hours plus notice, Captain Dan's Website ) 2. Another is Reliable-Tow Boat US, (239 283 6060, $70 each way per boat load, two hours plus notice). 3. Another is Capt. Marcus Rogers 239 283 4672. These water taxies are in operation 24/7 in most any weather, however it is more expensive after normal working hours. They have a special round trip rate to Cabbage Key for dinner. Please call to confirm the prices and availability. Grocery Delivery For grocery delivery prior to your arrival or during your stay, call Mainland Connections (239 283 6311, Cell 239 410 4277) and Connie will deliver to the island. House Location The house is located on the east side of the island, near Carol Sellars/Gresham Canal, which is west of the north tip of the small island called Pork Chop. There is only one dock whose deck runs east-west; it is also gated and provides access for boats up to 22 feet to tie up on the north side, east end when visiting or renting the house. The house is a short walk from the dock, down LaCosta Drive and turn right onto Pompano Drive, two hundred feet on your right.
