August 22, 2008: Magic Show

July 18, 2008: Hundred Push-Up Challenge

Upper body strength is important to runners. So I started the hundred push-up challenge. This is a six- to eight- week program that is designed to train just about anyone to pump out 100 push-ups. The program is free and can be found at http://www.hundredpushups.com/index.html.
The fellow who runs the site even made a donation to my fund raiser. J
June 29, 2008: 7.5 mile run along the Charles River in Cambridge, MA.
Despite a slightly pulled calf muscle after my 5 mile run on the 26th, I decided to give the race a go after a couple days rest. I took it nice and easy and enjoyed the scenery around Cambridge and chatted with plenty of other runners near the back of the pack. I made it from start to finish without any problems in about 1 hour 17 minutes.

June 7, 2008: Black Belt Test.
After starting karate over 20 years ago while in college, I finally got around to the benchmark of black belt. The event was a four hour long demonstration of all the skills we learned over the years. Plus plenty of hazing.

We started the test by standing in "front" position for 20 minutes… followed by plenty of warm-up.

And reflected on our civic duties while saying the pledge… and finally demonstrating our knowledge.

Plus, making some new friends from other schools in the area.
