How to Determine Holyday Dates

You can easily determine the Creator God’s annual holydays every year using a copy of Dr. Mongur Ahmed’s program named MoonCalc. You can search the Internet for "Mooncalc" and download (rightclick, save target as) this free program (the current version is 6.0) from the following site:

After downloading Mooncalc program and installing it on your computer, then do the following steps. On the Main menu, enter '1' to select "Option 1 - Summary Tables of Moon Data" of this program to determine the correct calendar dates for each holyday. The frame of reference for this is Jerusalem, since it is the only place on earth that is chosen by God to be his headquarters. All times are in Jerusalem local time (which is Universal time plus 2 hours).

In determining the first new moon that begins the Creator's Calendar each year, you must first realize that the Creator commands that the Spring Feasts must occur in the Spring season, which means after the vernal equinox. Then the first new moon after the vernal equinox begins the first month of the Creator's annual calendar. Originally, as the Bible shows, the months were 30-days months, and were probably marked by a lunar eclipse every month in Jerusalem, when the Moon, Earth and Sun were aligned in a perfect conjunction. Because of mankind's sins, God has changed this arrangement, making it harder to determine exactly when the New Moon occurs every month. (This will be restored soon in order to fulfill the 42 month - 1260 days prophecies in Revelation 11.)

The best way to explain how to determine the First Spring New Moon is to use the analogy of a watch having an hour, minute and second hands. It is not truly Noon until all 3 hands are exactly on the 12-hour mark. In the same way, the beginning of the Creator's annual calendar does not occur until the season, new moon, and sunset are all on the same mark. These three events must occur to start the Creator's annual calendar:

1. The season must begin at the vernal equinox at Jerusalem.
2. The new moon must reach its least illumination at Jerusalem.
3. The next sunset must occur at Jerusalem.

The steps below will help you determine each of these events so you can know when the Creator's annual calendar begins, and then the dates of all of the annual holydays the Creator commands to be observed. Below example is for 2012.

1. First you must determine when Spring begins in Jerusalem.
2. Run Mooncalc; on Main menu enter '1' to select "Option 1 - Summary Tables of Moon Data"
3. Press "Page Down" & "Arrow Down" in box on right to select "Jerusalem" & press ENTER
4. Enter the year: yyyy
5. Enter the month: 03 (since equinox is usually in March)
6. Enter the date: 16 (since equinox is usually about March 16th every year in Jerusalem)
7. Enter the hour: 05, and press ENTER
8. Enter the minute: 30, and press ENTER
9. Enter the second: 30, and press ENTER
10. The chart will now display.
11. Use the DEL/INS keys to find the day when the "Apparent Sunrise" and the "Apparent Sunset" differ by almost exactly 12 hours (select the day where the difference is least - see example in table below). This is the equal day/night (vernal equinox) for Jerusalem and begins the Spring season for them in Jerusalem. The first new moon after this moment will begin the first month of the Creator's annual astronomical calendar. (NOTE: in table below, subtract 12:00:00 from top sunset number before calculating the difference.)

So, 3/16 is day when the Spring season starts in Jerusalem - the date that is closest to an equal 12-hour day and 12-hour night.

12. Now you must find the first new moon after this date of Spring in Jerusalem, which is when the least illumination ("Phase" in the second panel of display) starts and ends, and when Molad (conjunction, median) occurs. Press the DEL key to go ahead to this day, then press the END key to find the hour, and the PageDown key to find the minute, so that the Phase is closest to "0.0000" that you can get it at the start and end of the least illumination period, using the Date and Time in upper right-hand corner of top display panel (LT = local time). For 2011, this will be in April since the MOLAD in March occurs on 3/4, which is BEFORE the Equinox on 3/17.
    
    So, for this year the least illumination (0.0018) of waning moon "(" starts on Thursday 3/22 at 15:14:00, and the least illumination (0.0016) of waxing moon ")" ends on Thursday 4/3 at 18:52:00. The elapsed time between these two times is 3 hours 38 minutes (218 minutes), which you divide by 2 (to get the median point/molad), and add that to start time to get 3/22 at 17:03:00. This is when the new moon (MOLAD) occurs in Jerusalem.
    
    
13. Now you must find the next apparent Jerusalem sunset AFTER this new moon time. The next sunset AFTER this time begins the FIRST DAY of the new year in the Creator's astonomical calendar.

Sunset on Thursday 3/22 is at 17:52:10. This is AFTER the above MOLAD, so the first day of the 1^st month starts Thursday 3/22 at sunset, making the daylight portion of the first day of the new year (Abib 1) to be Friday 3/23.

14. Count 14 days from and including Abib 1 and to find Passover day, Thursday (5/5), which begins the previous day (5/4 Wednesday) at sunset, at which time the Passover Service occurs – at the very same time the ancient Israelites killed their lambs at twilight, and when Jesus had his service with his disciples.
    
    
15. This night and day of the 14^th is also the first day of Feast of Unleavened Bread. On God's calendar, just after the daylight portion of the 13^th day ends and the evening that begins the 14^th) the Night Much Observed begins. It is the night the Israelites left Egypt at night after being ordered by Pharoah after midnight on the 14^th to leave Egypt immediately. This is why the Creator told the Israelites to be clothed for travel while they ate the Passover meal that night of the 14^th).
    
    
16. Count 7 days from and including the 14^th to and including the 20^st day, which is the Last Day of the Feast of Unleavened, on Wednesday 5/11, which begins the previous day (5/10 Tuesday) at sunset.
    
    
17. From the morrow after the Sabbath that occurs during the Feast of UB (4/23), count 50 days from and including that "Sunday" to the 50^th day which will also be a Sunday - the Feast of Firstfruits (5/27), which begins the previous day (Sabbath) at sunset.
    
    
18. Count 7 new moons from and including 1^st new moon in #1 above. This is the Feast of Trumpets. Determine this True New Moon the same way as in items 12-13 above. For this year the least illumination (0.0016) of waning moon "(" starts on Wednesday 9/16 at 3:01:17, and the least illumination (0.0016) of waxing moon ")" ends on Thursday 9/16 at 6:04:17. The elapsed time between these two times is 3:03:00 minutes, which you divide by 2 and add to the start time to get the median point (MOLAD), which is 9/16 at 4:02:47. This is when the new moon occurs in Jerusalem. The Apparent Sunset on 9/27 is at 17:43:27. This sunset is AFTER 4:02:47 (the new moon Molad) so the 7^th month starts on 9/16 at this FIRST SUNSET at 17:43:27 AFTER the New Moon occurs. So this is when the Feast of Trumpets begins, making the daylight portion of the Feast of Trumpets (Holyday 4) on Monday 9/17. Months #1 and #7 of the Creator's calendar ALWAYS start on the first sunset AFTER the time that the MOLAD of the new moon occurs.
    
    

19. Count to the 10^th day - the Day of Atonement (Holyday 5) on Wednesday 9/26 (starts at sunset of previous day).

20. Count to 15^th day - the Feast of Tabernacles (Holyday 6) on Monday 10/1 (starts at sunset of previous day).

21. Count to 22^nd day (“the 8^th day”) - the Last Great Day (Holyday 7) on Monday 10/8 (starts at sunset of previous day).

WARNING

Now that you know HOW to determine when the Creator God’s Holydays occur every year, you have NO EXCUSE for not observing them AT THEIR PROPER TIME. The MOLAD of the new moon is used because it follows the precedent of how the equinox is calculated - equal day and equal night - split down the middle!

According to His Word, the curses of the Creator God will be upon those who violate His Covenant (Deut 29. 14-28).

These curses are so severe because the Holydays commanded in this Covenant and the lessons and blessings they bring are so important. The Creator put His Calendar in the sky so that no one could change it, and so that everyone could know it (Ps 19.1-4; Gen 1.14-19).

Do not be deceived by traditions of men!

Keep the Creator God’s Holydays commanded in Leviticus 23 at the proper time and see whether it is of God or not (Jn 7.17).
