Engine Installation.

The donor motor.  It was in a pickup the last time it ran.

I bought it off a guy who's 1968 Chevelle project was being canceled.

The short block was not rebuilt.  The heads and everything else was replaced or rebuilt.

There is no lip in the upper cylinder wall indicating little wear.  The pistions are .060 over, making the engine a 468 cubic inch.

All it takes is a lot of time and a lot of money.

It will whine :)

Lifter valley with Moroso oil shield to keep hot oil off the bottom of the intake manifold.

A cool intake manifold makes more power.

Gaskets were held in place perfectly with a few drops of super glue. They matched the ports exactly.

More or less this is what the motor will look like.

She's a beauty.  Whoooeee!

Some day the valve covers will be replaced with nice chrome ones.  I will run these for a while since I went through all the work of getting them and painting / wet sanding them for smoothness.
