Note! By 1821, Henry Pitts Sr. married to Hannah Collier
and Henry Pitts Sr. married to Mary Dudgeon have been dead for a few years
I make the assumption that this is land sold by Henry Pitts Jr. b. 1759 d. 1847 and his son Ephraim
to his other son Henry Pitts III b.1792 d. 1861

South Carolina } Know all men by these presents that Henry Pitts Senr of
the District of Laurens and State Aforesaid for and in consideration of the
sum of one hundred and thirty seven Dollars thirty seven and an half cents
to be paid by Henry Pitts Junr of the District and State aforesaid: have
granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell
and Release unto Henry Pitts Junr his heirs and assigns all that parcel
or tract of land lying in said district on the waters of Duncans Creek.
Containing seventy eight acres more or less and hath such shape form and marks
as a Plat Hereunto annexed doth represent. Together with all and singular
the rights members Hereditaments and appurtenances Hereunto belonging or in
any wise in actual or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the
premises before mentioned unto the said Henry Pitts Junr. His heirs and assigns
forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors and administrators to
warrant an to forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said
Henry Pitts junr, his heirs and assigns and against every other person or
persons whoms ever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof
in witness whereof I have hereunto sit my hand and affixed my seal this third
day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one
and in the forty fifth year of the Independence of the United States of America.

who being duly sworn as law directs on his oath sayeth that he saw Henry Pitts senr.
Sign seal and deliver the written deed to Henry Pitts junr for the purposes therein
mentioned and also that he saw Joseph N. Hitch sign the same as a subscribing witness
with himself sworn to and subscribed before me this 3rd day of April 1821

South Carolina } Know all men by these presents that I Ephraim Pitts of the
District of Laurens and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of
sixty five dollars to me paid by Henry Pitts junr of the State and District aforesaid.
Have granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell
and release unto the said Henry Pitts junr. His heirs and assigns all that plantation
or tract of land containing forty three acres more or less lying on the waters of
Duncan creek in the district and state aforesaid being a part of two tracts originally
granted to John Brown and James White and hath such shape form and marks as a platt
hereunto annexed doth represent . Together with all and singular the rights, members
Hereditaments And appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise actual or appertaining.
To have and to hold all and singular the promises before mentioned unto the said
Henry Pitts Junr. his heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself my heirs
executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said
premises unto the said Henry Pitts Jr his heirs and assigns and against every other
person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal This third day of April
in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one and in the forty fifth year

John C. Beasley sign the same as @ Subscribing witness with himself sworn to and subscribed
before me this 3rd day of April 1821
