For the proponents of "profiling", the "sniper" case presented a problem. Noone would question the well-known fact that almost all serial murderers are white guys. And we know that as a result of blindly following the profile, Muhammed and Malvo were let go numerous times because they were looking for white guys. So how does Leo manipulate ? By saying, in effect, 'contrary to common belief, lots of snipers aren't white'. Almost slips by you if you aren't reading carefully.

And another - that the Unabomber was part of the "far left". Then how come his manifesto tears into the left as being the source of much of society's evils ? And where were those "let's understand the Unabomber" stories ? Who cares, just make it up.

Right-wing ideology, as expressed in their writings, is pretty amazing. Any fact can be twisted, or invented, knowing that those who sympathize from the start aren't going to have a problem with dishonesty, and most others aren't going to informed enough to see the lies. And to top it off, the ideology includes lots of talk about truth and lies - witness the harping that Clinton was such a liar - amidst writing where truth is in no way a requirement.

And note the bemoaning the lack of sympathy for "anti-abortion killers". God, these people are worse than disgusting.
