How does The Poetry Market Ezine select poetry markets featured in issues?     Selections are random.     We are not compensated in any way for markets it features.     We actively try to make sure we do not feature markets that "scam" poets by charging fees for anthologies or by accepting work for publication and then never publishing, asking you to buy a copy first before publication, etc., etc.

How current are the listings featured in issues?     Listing info about markets is as current as possible, but there are many factors with market listings over which we have no control including the 3-4 month gap between printing and publishing our issues.     That's why it is best to reconfirm guidelines before you submit.     After all, you may read about a listing one month and send something to them several months later and by then the market may have closed, changed its guidelines, etc.     We provide contact info for the markets so that you can write, email or visit their web pages for the most up to date guidelines, and/or to see samples of other published poets.

Can I send Poetry Contest info?     Yes.      Be sure to include contact and deadline info and website/email.     Please do not send us a URL and ask us to go get the info for you.

If I send my poetry chapbook or book for review, how long will it take?      It will take up to a year for a review to appear as we have a small staff of volunteers.     Please be patient.     Remember this is free PR for you, and often our reviews are reprinted in other markets giving you extra free PR!

Do you accept poems, or give advice on how to get poetry published?    No, and No.     We do not accept poems.     We do not publish poems.     We do not provide advice on how to get your poetry published.     There are many fine books on how to do that -- check out our Poetry Bookstore link for suggestions.     We do not respond to requests to publish poems or to provide publishing advice.
